As Minox notes, the ‘L’ in the name stands for ‘light’. “But”, you say, “it’s ¾ of an ounce heavier than the 8x32.” Yes, and that’s impressive because this is a full-size glass with 42 mm objectives. The low weight is a function of the polycarbonate body. But Minox has not compromised optical quality to achieve this goal. Like their other models it is rubber-armored and waterproof down to 16.4 feet. This glass is nitrogen-purged like most other makes of waterproof glasses, unlike the other Argon-filled Minox models.
